The City of Keene is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in the Utilities Maintenance Division, Public Works Department, which is responsible for maintenance in the City’s water and wastewater facilities and systems.

Successful candidate must have experience and strong diagnostic skills in all aspects of maintenance and troubleshooting/repair of the following: pumps, electrical components, plumbing, welding/fabrication, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Must be experienced with installation and removal of equipment and must be able to read and interpret drawings and electrical/instrumentation schematics. Successful candidate will perform general maintenance on buildings, grounds, and structures that involves heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and working in all weather conditions.

Applicant must have high school diploma or equivalent, be able to respond to alarms within one (1) hour when on call, possess a valid New Hampshire driver’s license, and be able to obtain a Class B CDL within six months of employment. At least two years’ maintenance experience in an industrial/commercial/municipal capacity is required. Maintenance background in water and/or wastewater field or an electrician/plumber license is a plus. Pay range is $18.72-$21.98/hour.
